The Rhynd Wedding Photography and Videography | Mairi + Scott

It was serendipitous timing when Scott and Mairi's love story began.

Their paths crossed through a mutual friend at the Beer Kitchen in Dundee, but fate intervened as their original plans had unraveled. Mairi was initially supposed to be out the night before, while Scott had intended to be in Edinburgh.

Fast forward two years, and amidst a USA road trip adventure, Scott popped the question at the Grand Canyon. With a ring of his own design – crafted with the helping hands of Dundee jeweler Lorraine Law – he proposed to Mairi in a moment of breathtaking beauty. Once Mairi accepted his proposal, it seemed fitting for the couple to return to Lorraine Law for their custom wedding rings.

Before welcoming their son Josh into the world, Scott and Mairi decided to embark on the journey of parenthood before tying the knot. Their only booked aspect of the wedding was their venue, The Rhynd, which provided the ideal blank canvas for their envisioned celebration. The allure of The Rhynd's rustic ambiance and the added benefit of free corkage sealed the deal for the couple. Despite facing postponements due to the pandemic – not once, but twice – Scott and Mairi remained resilient. From last-minute travel adjustments to weathering a storm-induced power outage the night before, they navigated each challenge with grace.

Their humanist ceremony, personalised vows, and heartfelt speeches added an extra layer of intimacy to the celebration. Scott's surprise – a book chronicling their journey to the altar – was a sentimental highlight, showcasing his love and dedication to Mairi. The reception was a joyous affair, complete with a sharing banquet and an open bar, where guests reveled in the festivities with abandon.

As they reflect on their journey from courtship to marriage, Scott and Mairi offer sage advice to future couples: start early, avoid planning during a pandemic, and ensure that distractions are kept at bay during venue decoration. Despite the hurdles, their love prevailed, and their wedding day stands as a testament to their enduring commitment and unwavering bond.
